COMMUNITY LITERACY PROJECTS WITH ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS 2020-1
Goal
The goal of this group project was to invite graduate students in the Masters Program in Applied Linguistics at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas to recognize students´ immediate communities as resources for teaching and learning during quarantine. Fourteen pedagogical innovations using community-based pedagogies and critical literacies, whose abstracts I share, were carried out during the spring of 2020 in different educational contexts where graduate students are teachers of English in the city of Bogotá, Colombia

LITERACY STUDIES AND LOCAL PEDAGOGIES FOR SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION
Objetivos
1. Documentar los conceptos y prácticas de literacidad de individuos y colectivos en contextos urbanos o rurales para explorar las prácticas escolares de lectura y escritura de niños en distintos contextos educativos y no educativos como el hogar, la escuela, bibliotecas, Transmilenio.
2. Investigar formas no escolarizadas de literacidad desde una perspectiva sociocultural
3. Promover pedagogías críticas, literacidades críticas desde perspectivas de la pedagogía de lugar, las pedagogías de la comunidad, las lenguas minoritarias y sus literacidades, el poder de las políticas que niegan acceso y equidad a las poblaciones marginadas
